Redpath utilize twinskin cladding technology across a wide range of its greenhouse designs. Twinskin can offer growers in cooler climates substantial gains in retaining thermal energy within the greenhouse. The twinskin effect is created by pumping air with an inflation fan between the two layers of polyethylene film fastened to the greenhouse frame. This pocket of air separates the layers and creates a barrier similar to “double glazing”.
As much as 25% in heat savings can be gained compared to similar design glass clad structures. Twinskin technology is particularly effective on cold wet nights when the greenhouse covering is exposed to greater wind chill factors.
Another advantage of twinskin technology is that it can offer improved cover resilience when exposed to extreme wind load. The inflation pressure effectively places the cladding under tension & it is less prone to flapping.
